Apart from the framing material we’ve developed and our expertise in installation, it’s the type of glass we use at Renewal by Andersen® of Cape Cod that makes our windows stand out from the rest. They may look simple, but our windows are much more than just a single layer of glass that’s been stuck into a frame.
Double Glazing and Spacing
All Renewal by Andersen windows are made with two panes of glass instead of one. The panes are separated by a stainless steel spacer, which helps achieve energy efficiency by ensuring that there’s just the right amount of space between the panes to reduce heat transfer.
Argon Gas Blend
While windows are usually filled with either krypton or argon, we fill the space between our panes with our own gas blend. Gas fills, as they are called, help insulate windows. This has proved much more effective than simply filling the space between panes with air, as they did before the 1950s.
We offer three window replacement glass options at Renewal by Andersen of Cape Cod: High-Performance™ Low-E4® glass, High-Performance Low-E4 Sun and High-Performance Low-E4 SmartSun™. Each is made to address specific needs, and they all have corresponding glass coatings on the outside which are designed to prevent water spots from forming. Low-E coating is used for the inside surface of the exterior pane.
Our window panes are sealed twice using two different materials, and the edges of our panes are always cleaned before applying the sealants to prevent moisture from seeping in. Utilizing a dual seal process also ensures that our windows have a longer life.
