Clean Windows Inside and Out
Brush the window frames, tracks and screens with a dry, soft-bristled brush. Use a vacuum cleaner to get rid of loose debris and dirt. Then, wipe the windows with a soft cloth or sponge soaked in soapy water. Once done, wipe them dry with a microfiber cloth. Window contractors recommend cleaning on a cloudy day to avoid streaks from appearing on the glass. When cleaning, do so in one direction, whether up and down or side to side.
Use the Appropriate Cleaner
Mixing dishwashing detergent and warm water is enough to clean the windows. If, however, you’re going to use a store-bought cleaner, see to it that it doesn’t contain harsh chemicals that may damage the surface of the window frames and sash. Also, use a cloth, sponge or squeegee for cleaning; never use tools with abrasive surfaces as these can leave scratches.
